Lou Sims created this stunning stamped card on behalf of Polkadoodles for our February 2017 issue.
This stunning creation was part of the Gesso masterclass feature in the February 2017 issue of Craft Stamper.
As a parent whose youngest child has flown the nest, (well gone to university), we want them to embrace their new adventure but at the same time, we will miss them.
I wanted to make a project using a limited colour palette for all elements. Using the postcard stamp (and several masks), I created the background. The background design was then cut into different sized squares. Rather than using real ribbon and lace, I have used the border stamps to create my own.
As the typewriter and the message are my main focus, they were stamped in black. The typewriter has been layered to give extra definition. To create the typed message, stamp the sentiment several times then repeat on the other side of the paper. Dies cuts were added to draw your eye back towards the typewriter and sentiment.

Each month, Craft Stamper will be sharing one (or sometimes 2!) totally free sheets of Elements, all ready for you to print off and use in your art.
