A Flow-ish Journal by Sarah Anderson
Create a handy journal for storing all of those lovely papers and ephemera.
She says, “I love collage. I collage daily during the 100 day project on Instagram, and add collage elements to my diary, as well as including elements in my cards, packaging and art journal pages.
Stacks of Gelli printed papers, ephemera etc fill drawers and folders, and I’ve tried various ways of organising them. I recently came across ‘Flow-ish journals’, or ‘flo-jos’ and realised this would be a compact way of keeping my papers organised and together. It also makes them portable for working away from my art studio.
‘Flow’ is a Dutch magazine for paper lovers and they produce a book each year full of papers to use in your work. A ‘Flow-ish’ journal mirrors this idea but you create your own book and fill it with your own papers. There are many ways to do this but I felt that the Midori Traveller’s notebook style system would suit me best. This means that I can organise my papers, and slip them in and out of the book easily. I created three distinct collections of papers – gelli printed papers, ephemera, and envelopes. ”
