Step-by-step… Vintage Book Box

1 Assemble the chipboard book base and darken the edges with the Distress Inks.

2 Cover the outside of the book base with scrapbook papers, after attaching a ribbon to the chipboard front and back cover.

3 Apply a thin coat of white gesso, concentrating mainly in the centre, and leave it to dry.

4 Stamp the doily in the centre and emboss with gold embossing powder. Cover the chipboard pieces with gold embossing as well.

5 Start building up your composition using larch cones, lace, stars and other embellishments.

6 To make fake snow, use Modeling Paste mixed with 3D Balls and apply it randomly onto the embellishments.

To finish the project: I stamped “Let it snow”, embossing it with gold embossing powder. I placed this in the centre of the design. Thread a ribbon through the spine of the book and add some random splashes using a gold spray mist.
