Step by Step...Textural backgrounds

Invert the canvas and cover up all the staples and canvas edges with Grunge Paste. Dry.

Spread on a layer of Opaque Flakes and dry.

Paint on a layer of gesso and dry.

Sprinkle on some Infusions powder in horizontal stripes.

Spritz the Infusions powders with water and allow to run, tilting to allow drips to form. Dry.

Dab some bright PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk paints randomly around the frame with a baby wipe.

To finish the project: After completing the canvas texture, I coloured a sheet of card with the Infusions powders then stamped the fish images, cut them out and added white gel pen highlights. I attached wobble springs to three of the fish, extra heavy gel medium to the rest and placed them on the edges of the canvas together with a hand cut heart. The final step was to add the quote strips and some glitter glue.
