Lotte says: “Once I started making these backgrounds, I just kept going with colour combinations and different surfaces. I ended up with a load of papers ready to use for art journaling or collages. It helps not having a blank piece of paper to start off with!” |

1 First, assemble the MDF Chunkie and give it two coats of white gesso. Do not paint the bottom or the back. Leave to dry. |
2 Using a sponge applicator tool, smoosh Distress Oxide ink in Tumbled Glass all over the front and sides. Lightly spritz with water. Dry with heat gun.
|
3 With your made-up Twisted Citron spray, give the front and sides a very light application, and dry with heat gun. Repeat with Frayed Burlap spray. |

|
4 With your made-up Faded Jeans spray, lightly spritz all over and dry with heat gun. Finish with a spray of Twisted Citron and dry with heat gun. |
5 Stamp the Carabelle Typographiquen using Ranger Archival Ink Vermillion. Next, with a piece of bubble wrap, randomly print using Vermillion around the edges of the Chunkie. |
6 When everything is dry, use a palette knife to roughly paint around the edges and corners with DecoArt Media white Crackle Paint. Leave to dry naturally.

7 Mix a little bit of Distress Oxide re-inker in Faded Jeans with a tiny amount of DecoArt Media Modeling Paste and use with Tim Holtz stencil. Let dry naturally. Sponge Vermillion Archival ink through a stencil. |
8 Spray decorated surfaces with matte varnish, and leave to dry naturally. |
9 On white cardstock, stamp the Bee Crafty Greatness Girl in VersaFine Onyx Black. Spritz lightly with Tumbled Glass Oxide spray. Make sure it's absolutely dry, and fussy cut before sticking onto the front with gel medium. |
To finish the project: Attach the barcode embellishment with superglue on the front. Glue some scrapbooking paper or old book pages onto the back. |
