Using Alcohol Inks to Frame Your Subject
Use alcohol inks on a glossy photo to bring attention to your subject. For this technique you will use your glossy finish photo as you would glossy cardstock when creating an alcohol inked background. Add two to three colours of alcohol inks to a felt pad on an ink blending tool. Add a few drops of blending solution. Tap the ink blending tool around the edges of your photo, leaving the area with your main image free of ink. When dry, stamp coordinating images around the edges using StazOn ink. Stitch around the borders of the alcohol-inked area using a ‘messy stitching’ technique. Add a coordinating charm and sticky-backed pearls. Mat the photo with contrasting paper and adhere to a cardstock base.
