Michelle’s delicately scented handmade soap would make a gorgeous Mother’s Day gift.
Handmade Soap
Materials in addition to those listed in the magazine…
- 150g melt and pour soap base
- Perfume oils: melon; lavender; peppermint
- Red food colouring
- Plastic mould
- Unmounted rubber stamp to fit in the bottom of mould
Step-by-step… Decorated Soap
1 Place the closely trimmed rubber stamp in the base of the mould (I’ve used an old Weight Watchers dessert dish). In a separate container, melt the soap in the microwave for a minute at a time until completely melted.

2 Add: 10 drops melon oil; 5 drops lavender oil; 5 drops peppermint oil; 1 drop of food colouring. Stir well, pour into mould, and leave to set.

3 When set remove from mould and remove stamp from the top of the soap. Leave the soap to harden and when totally cool wrap in cling film. Wrap in tissue and decorate with a stamped coloured flower.
