Cast in Paper - Designer: Sharon Neill

Here’s another idea for using the fabulous paper casting technique Sharon demonstrated in the October 2010 issue.

Rustic Wall Hanging

Additional materials to those listed in the magazine...

  • Crafty Individuals set of small hanging frames
  • Crafty Individuals stamp: CI-213 (tree bark)
  • Crafty Individuals: Nature’s Beauty images
  • Cosmic Shimmer Pigment
  • Hessian cloth
  • Ribbon and embellishments

INSTRUCTIONS...
Add layers of tissue to the front of the frame, as if you are making a paper casting.  Once you have two or three layers, stamp the ‘tree bark’ on top of the tissue to form an imprint of the design. Do this for all three frames. Trim, where necessary, and leave to dry. Paint with Cosmic Shimmer Pigments using rustic colours. Place a piece of hessian down the back of the frames and secure in place. Adhere paper casting leaves to the hessian with silicone glue and place the miniature image inside the middle frame, as illustrated. Glue a small piece of twig, adding a little birdhouse embellishment to the base of the hanging. Finish by tying a piece of ribbon to the top to complete.
