Three Ways with… Diamond Glaze - Designer: Helen Chilton
Helen kicked off our new feature ‘Three Ways With…’ in the April 2010 issue with her article on Diamond Glaze. Typically Helen, she couldn’t stop at three techniques so here is yet another Diamond Glaze idea for you to try!
Dragonfly Card
Technique: Colour Diamond Glaze with pigment powders on acetate.
Materials…
- Inkadinkado clear stamps: Mindscapes (99121)
- Diamond Glaze
- Pearl Ex pigments: Interference Green; Interference Blue; Interference Violet
- Memento inkpads: Cantaloupe; Pear Tart; Lilac Posies; Summer Sky; New Sprout; Lulu Lavender
- Patterned paper
Instructions: Stamp the Mindscape dragonfly onto acetate in black and leave to dry. Paint the Diamond Glaze directly onto the back of the acetate, along the top of the wings. Add some of the green interference powder to the Diamond Glaze and gently mix in. Fill in the rest of the wings, a section at a time, with the blue and violet powders. Leave to dry overnight.
To make the card, layer up patterned papers, edged with the flourish borders in black. Stamp the dragonfly onto white card and colour in with the coordinating Memento inkpads. Stick to card and add acetate dragonfly on top with glue dots. Add embellishments.
