Another fabulous art doll idea from altered artist Sue.
All Boxed In
Materials Sue used…
- Lost Coast Designs stamp: Feather Diva with Face
- Any text stamp (I used one from Hero Arts)
- White card
- Body shaped papier mâché box
- Memories black inkpad
- Viva Terra texture paste
- Kaisercolour paints: Red; Raw Sienna
- Small cotton reels
- Small nails
- Crocheted flower
- Scrap of book page
- Gesso
- Coffee stirrer
- Sequin waste
INSTRUCTIONS:Paint the box with gesso, let dry and then paint red. Rub some of the paint away to give a distressed look. Glue a small scrap of book page inside the box.
Stamp the face onto card, colour and cut out just the central face. Cut a short length of coffee stirrer and glue the face to it. Glue some small nails around the face checking that the face will fit into the box.
Glue a crocheted flower to the top of a small cotton reel, add the stirrer into the top of the cotton reel, glue inside the box. Cut out heart shapes; paint two red, stamp and use as wings. Paint the third with Terra texture paste, heat to bubble and then paint with Raw Sienna paint. Glue this to a small cotton reel and then glue that to the top of the box. Stand box on a stack of cotton reels.
