Snow Much Fun - by Kay Carley

Two more fabulous snowman card designs from Kay, which compliment her project in the December 2009 issue of Craft Stamper.

Large Square Card – Herb

Additional materials...

  • Whiff of Joy Herb rubber stamp (E035)
  • Hero Arts Handwritten Christmas stamp (F5275)
  • Marvy Blending Blox inkpads: Shades of Green; Shades of Olive
  • Cotton White StazOn inkpad
  • Acetate
  • Sakura Stardust pens: 703 Golden; 709 Bronze
  • Red self-adhesive gemstones
INSTRUCTIONS: Stamp Herb and the trees onto a watercolour panel using a mask to position the trees behind the snowman. Colour as described for the main card in the magazine. To create the background for this card stamp Flourish Pine onto Kromekote card using Versamark ink and leave to air dry. Once dry apply Shades of Green and Olive inks to the panel. Randomly stamp a square piece of acetate with snowflakes using Cotton White StazOn and then stamp the holly flourish and wording around the edges using Stone Grey StazOn. Embellish with self-adhesive red rhinestones.

Small Square Card - Herb

Additional materials...

  • Whiff Of Joy Herb rubber stamp (E035)
  • Marvy Blending Blox inkpads: Shades of Green; Shades of Olive
  • Sakura Stardust pens: 703 Golden; 709 Bronze
  • Red self-adhesive gemstones
INSTRUCTIONS: You don’t always have to position the trees centrally behind your main image. For this card I used a mask again to cover up the snowman but this time I stamped the trees a little to the left of the snowman so that the smaller tree on the right was behind the snowman and then stamped to the right of the snowman leaving a little gap between the trees.
