Vintage Christmas: Tree Ornament
Make this tree decoration which co-ordinates with Katy’s vintage-style seasonal projects from the December 2009 issue.
Materials...
- Creative Expressions Stylish Christmas stamp set 1 (UMSTYLISH1)
- Crafty Individuals script stamp: CI-017
- Versamagic inks: Jumbo Java; Red Magic
- Distress Ink: Antique Linen
- Brilliance ink: Pearlescent Chocolate
- Cosmic Shimmer embossing powder: Olympic Gold Lustre
- Sizzix die: oval tags
- Acetate
- Ribbon
- Cut n’ Dry foam
Create a bird panel in the same way as for the Bind-It-All album shown in the magazine by stamping the robin in two-tone and embossing with gold powder. Stamp the script to the right of the bird in Antique Linen ink.
Cut out a large tag from acetate using the Sizzix die. Place over the bird image and draw around with pencil. Use this line as a guide for stamping swirls around the edge in Antique Linen, Pearlescent Chocolate and Red Magic Inks. Cut out and ink the edges with Antique Linen.
Cut another tag in chipboard. Stick the bird image to the tag, trim and sand the edges for a neat finish. Ink the edge with Pearlescent Chocolate. Punch a hole using a Crop-A-Dile.
Repeat for the reverse of the tag so you have a double-sided ornament for the tree. Thread with ribbon.
