Masterclass: Claudine Helmuth Acrylic Paints

If you loved Kate’s paint masterclass, here is another idea for using her great background techniques on a canvas bookmark project.

Claudine Hellmuth’s sticky back canvas means you can turn just about any surface into a canvas. Try cutting a piece of card to bookmark size. Cover with sticky back canvas. Add a base layer of paint using a baby wipe to spread the paint and then highlight the edges and corners with a darker shade. Use rubber stamps or bottle tops, credit cards and pencil tops to stamp contrasting shades of paint to create a background. Cut out your images and adhere with a layer of multi-medium. Embellish with stickles and machine stitching before punching a hole and adding a ribbon.
