Here are some more samples from Jenny Mayes of Hobby Art, using this month’s lovely geisha cover mount stamp.
Simple Oriental Card
Designer: Jenny Mayes
Use a white card and cover the bottom half with oriental paper. Put a strip of black card over the edge of the paper. Stamp the geisha onto a piece of white card using black ink and emboss with clear powder. Stamp the text again at the top right of the card blank. Attach to the card using red and black card mats which are torn at the bottom. Add peel off circles or brads to embellish.
Diagonal Geisha Card
Designer: Jenny Mayes
Attach pieces of oriental paper and black paper to a square card. Stamp cherry blossom (Hobby Art OR1941C) onto the black paper and emboss using white embossing powder. Stamp geisha onto a piece of white card. Stamp again onto patterned paper and cut out the robe and stick it over the stamped image, so the robe co-ordinates with the background. Mount onto coloured papers and attach to the card.
Blue Watercolour Card
Designer: Jenny Mayes
Use a large square blue card as the basis. Put a strip of oriental paper down one side. Decorate with a gold peel off. Use a large piece of watercolour card and create a background wash using brush markers. Stamp the cherry blossom (Hobby Art OR1941C) at the bottom and colour in. Stamp the geisha in black ink onto a space piece of watercolour card. Emboss with clear embossing powder for a raised image and colour in using brush markers. Attach to card using gold paper.
Fan Card
This card is made in the same way as the fan card example in the magazine, but here you can see how different it looks in a traditional blue and white colour scheme.
